Privacy policy

This policy explains how we process personal data when you visit knowledgepixels.com. There is not much to explain: this website has no accounts, no logins, no contact forms, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking. It does not apply to our products, such as Nanodash, which are covered separately.

Who is responsible

Knowledge Pixels AG, Zeughausstrasse 31, 8004 Zurich, Switzerland. Questions about data protection go to info@knowledgepixels.com.

What we process, and why

Hosting. This site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., United States). To deliver the pages and keep the service secure, their servers process your IP address, the page you requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user agent. We have no access to these logs.

Usage statistics. We run our own installation of Umami at umami.knowledgepixels.com to see which of our pages are read. It sets no cookies and does not follow you to other websites. It records the page visited, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, and the country derived from your IP address. Your IP address itself is not stored. The statistics stay on a server we run ourselves, hosted by Hostinger International Ltd in Paris, France.

Our news items. Our home page and news page fetch our published nanopublications from our own service at query.knowledgepixels.com, which receives your IP address as part of that request.

An external software component. Those same two pages load a JavaScript component from the public CDN esm.sh, which likewise receives your IP address when your browser requests it.

Email. If you write to us, we process your message and your address in order to answer you, and we keep the correspondence for as long as our records require.

We process all of the above in our legitimate interest in running and securing an informative website. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.

Data leaving Switzerland

Our usage statistics are stored in France, a country whose level of data protection the Swiss Federal Council recognises as adequate. The web hosting is in the United States, and the CDN answers from edge servers worldwide, so loading this site discloses your IP address and request data outside Switzerland. We use these providers for no purpose other than delivering the website and counting visits.

Your rights

You may ask us for access to your data, and for its correction or deletion, and you may object to our processing of it (Art. 25 ff. of the Swiss Data Protection Act). Write to info@knowledgepixels.com. You may also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

If you are in the EU or EEA, the GDPR may apply in addition. Our legal basis is then Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and you may complain to your national supervisory authority.

Changes

We update this policy when the website changes. This version is from 15 October 2026.
